PROJECT OVERVIEW

A stunning pair of multi-functional garden rooms have been designed and built for our client’s in Dorchester.

The largest building measuring 8.6m x 4m, has two separate multifunctional internal rooms plus a contemporary shower room, making it a great extension to the family home.

The second building measuring 4m x 3m, provides a lovely room to be used as a workshop.

There are plenty of windows with beautiful views over the garden, also letting in a good amount of natural light, with aluminium patio doors to the front.

The building is clad with Cedral Weatherboard in a slate grey finish. This is favoured by building control because it provides good fire resistance and is totally maintenance free.

Electrics include connections at both the house and garden room; plenty of internal double power sockets and an external socket, LED down lights, Cat6 data point and smoke alarms.

We recommend fitting a 125 litre pressurised water cylinder to all Garden Room builds that contain a shower and basin to provide a constant supply of hot water.  It also provides a handy airing cupboard to store towels and bedding.

The project was fully signed off by Building Control.  EGR handled the whole planning application phase as part of their turnkey solution as well as the extensive groundworks including installation of a pumping station as the falls were not sufficient to carry the foul to the manhole at the rear of the house.

When looking for a company to build our Garden Room and Workshop in the garden of our new home in Dorchester we contacted Executive Garden Rooms and viewed one of their buildings. The build quality looked exceptionally good, and Alison provided us with plenty of helpful information.
John conducted a site visit and talked through the practicalities of delivering the building we wanted and suggested features that would make the garden room more adaptable as our family needs changed over time.

The final build is stunning and much admired by all who see the buildings. We know that the thermal properties of the build is such that we can use the buildings 365 days of the year and with a small heat input will be toasty even in the coldest days of the winter.
Beyond that we feel that the buildings will give many decades of service with very little required regarding maintenance, such is the quality of the fittings and the build.
We have just retired having run our own business and employed many, many builders in that time and we can safely say that Executive Garden Rooms Ltd are up there with the very best.
